 Hello
and welcome to Way of The Warrior number 7. Well my life is now complete. New Warriors
has been relaunched and unless you're a complete Phillistine or you live in an area where
books don't come your way until weeks after everyone else, you'll have your copy
safely tucked away in a protective bag and are deep in anticipation pining for number
2. I'm not going to pass any comments regarding the book, I'll leave that to My Words.
As for this months issue, My Words reviews a selection of books and Jeff (International
man of mystery (long before Austin Powers, check the archives) returns to share his views
on New Warriors #1. The Enigmatic Pendragon has had to take a small absence while he
recuperates from injuries recieved while rescuing sheep from a flood, (get well soon), and Don Lund and
Leafy take their own perspective views on subject matter for comics.
I have come to the conclusion that every one who likes the new Nova
sends their letters to Marvel and the discontented send their mail my way, I've never
seen a bad letter about Nova in his letter pages and I've never seen a good one sent
my way, so .........figure it for yourself <:-))
First I was kind of upset about Nova's cancellation. But maybe it's for the best. I don't
like where Eric was taking Nova. It's looks to me he was taking Nova backwards
not forward. And I'm really going to be p'd off if he lowers Nova's powers, how can he
be Earth's protector with the power level he originally started with. I'm hoping Nova's
future battle with the Spinx, heals him and he will be still as powerful, maybe even
learn more about his power and be able to use it like Nova00 and his alternative
self he once met. His current power level doesn't make him the Silver Surfer, but if you
lower his power, he won't be what he is meant to be. I think Eric is stuck in the 70's.
Mike Wright
Well Mike, this seems to be the main bugbear of most of the people I've
talked to regarding the new Nova, as you will probably know the book is gone in a
couple of issues time and from what I saw in New Warriors #1, Nova might be making
a steady climb up the popularity ladder.
